WOODSHED 2021…SUCCESS!
We did it! I’m so happy to report that we were able to once again have a wonderful and healthy Woodshed Experience. Thank you to all of the dancers, parents, and staff that put in all of the hard work to ensure that this was a successful experience.
I’d like to thank Sarah, Charles, and Nicholas for giving their time, talents, and heart to this project. It means so much to me that you embody and support being a mentor to this next generation of tap dancers. I’d also like to thank the best staff: Maddie Murphy, Josh Nixon, Rebecca Cannaday, Eric Decaminada, and Enrique Rosario. I couldn’t have asked for a better team. And I would like to thank my Mary for being all that she is and for loving and supporting all of my projects whole heartedly. And lastly, I’d like to thank my family, Charlie, Mia, Maddie and Kevin for being patient with me and for loving me.
WOODSHED 2020 WAS NOTHING SHORT OF MAGICAL!
I would like to thank all of the families, dancers, staff and mentors of Woodshed 2020. In a time filled with uncertainty, my heart was filled with joy as we came together and celebrated the beautiful African American art of tap dance. Please know, I do not take these times lightly, nor the responsibility of providing as safe of an event as possible. I have such gratitude for all that believed in this experience and accepted this challenge with the utmost respect.
A special thank you to Derick Grant…your support, guidance, and care of the dance along with the dancers is so needed today. Your mentorship is appreciated from all of these dancers and your friendship and debates mean so much to me personally. Cheers my friend!
The incomparable Sarah Reich…your willingness to once again take on the challenge of mentorship at Woodshed is a blessing to us all. Your passion for the dance inspires everyone around you. Forever grateful to you!
The stunning Star Dixon…it was such a great pleasure getting to know you and watch you share your gifts with the Woodshed dancers. Thank you so much for accepting the challenge of mentorship! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
